Brian and I had a great day climbing 3 classic Looking Glass Routes. We Started on Second Coming (5.7). A beautiful Crack that ramps almost the entire 300ft length of the climb. It starts with the fun but tricky “welcome to Looking Glass Rock” (5.7) crux. This climb should not be missed on your Looking Glass tick-list. Classic!
Then we climbed Gemini Crack (5.8). Another super classic for the area featuring a really fun 3 crack section on pitch 2-3, depending on how you break it up (I call it the scratch marks), it features a few fun jams and techy moves in an exposed position that you just can’t pass up.
Last but not least, we climbed Rats Ass (5.8). I call Rats Ass the big brother to Second Coming. It’s very similar climbing and it even parallels Second Coming, but sub the hand crack for fingers and it’s at a slightly steeper angle making it much more technique dependent comparatively. P1 is the money!
